4 Ways to Create a Memorable Brand at an Exhibition

When you spend money, time and effort attending a networking or business exhibition, you want to know that the rewards will make these efforts worthwhile. Whilst getting email addresses and other contact details will undoubtedly create opportunities with possible clients or customers, these long lists of contact details often only attract a couple of truly interested parties. Your real aim within any exhibition is to make a real impact and brand memorability, ensuring that multiple customers will be knocking at your door in the future. Here are a couple of ways to ensure you create an unforgettable and positive reflection of your brand at your next exhibition:

1/ Think about the audience. What sector are you in and how will this affect the way visitors react to your stand? Is it a creative audience who would appreciate a particularly quirky and eccentric stand? Or a techy group who would be more impressed with a futuristic look?

2/ How is your logo displayed? Your name and branding should obviously be the one thing that is completely unforgettable, so get creative with it! In the past our innovative designers have come up with a huge variety of completely original branding displays, from light-up and LED logos and  branded sculptures to suspended logos and evolving digital displays.

3/ Coherence is essential. There is no point having an incredibly creative logo which has no aesthetic relationship with the rest of your stand. Everything should meld together, to create one memorable impression of your brand. The combination of your display shape, graphics, digital displays, brochures and giveaways should embody your business perfectly.

4/ Great giveaways. Although your stand will have made a real impact with your visitors, they are busy people with a lot to see and a lot to do that day. Brochures are great reminders of how your business can benefit theirs, but are easily lost - why not try giving away something original and different, yet useful and relatable to your business (and we aren’t talking about branded pens). If you are in the hospitality and restaurant industry, why not get branded bottle openers, drinking bottles, mugs or placemats? If you work in retail, tote and hessian bags are a great help for visitors trying to carry round too many freebies! For the techy crowd go for technology accessories such as suction phone holders, mouse mats and screen cleaners.

2017 was an interesting year for everyone, bringing us everything from a royal wedding to Donald Trump’s first year in presidency. Although SD Displays’ progress isn’t exactly international news, we’ve had some fantastic and exciting developments over the last 12 months that have made 2017 one of our most successful years yet!

1/ We organised our first ever exhibition event. In March our team were busy organising The West London Business Show at the Park Inn at Heathrow, an event aimed at businesses of all sizes who wanted to showcase their brand and any new product launches at a major networking opportunity. With incredible motivational speakers talking at the event and workshops being held around the building, the show was incredibly inspiring and a huge success.

Recently SD Displays have been helping to set up some impressive T3 stands for a variety of companies. One such company was Gewiss UK, the subsidiary of a leading international manufacturer of electrical and lighting solutions that boasts over 20,000 original products and 500 associated patents. Utilising the versatile modular T3 display system, SD Displays installed a unique, eye-catching and vibrant stand for Gewiss' appearance at Elex, Sandown Park and EMEX, at the Excel Centre, London.

The brief called for a large-sized, easy to build and transportable design that would stand out against competitors and impress potential clients. Including a small counter, large 3D wall display and digital screen, we ensured that the stand was interactive and engaging. You can't miss the huge orange logo featured on both the front and side of the stand.

It’s coming up to that busy time when nervous yet excited students are leaving home to explore their new university and the various societies, clubs and sports teams that are open to them. To smoothly run a successful freshers fair you need to facilitate the students who are so passionately trying to build up their society members. So how can you best do this? Here are some tips to ensure you run the most exciting freshers fair to date:

  • Shout about it! If you haven’t already started making leaflets, branded freebies and other  promotional materials  then you should get to it now. University branded bags, stress balls, clothing, sweets, key rings and USB sticks are all great ideas to get the students interested and engaged with the upcoming fair.

  • Sort out stand layout. How many societies, clubs and sports team do you need to facilitate for, and what exactly do they need? Electricity, props or extra space are all things to consider when completing the layout of the fair. If part of the fair is held outside, which stands would need to stay indoors?

Are you ready to take centre stage at your next business event? Here are a couple of tips to get you started:


1) What size space do you have? It’s impossible to start planning your stand if you don’t know the size of your allotted space. The potential of a large space is huge, however if not planned properly, can appear empty and disorganised - make sure you have enough furniture and staff to fill the space. Size does matter, but if you don’t have the budget for a large space, don’t worry. Small stands can have a great impact if they are bright, eye-catching and innovative (and our designers are pros at making it look fantastic!).


2) Keep it simple. It’s so tempting when you are a proud business owner to plaster your stand with claims about all the amazing things you do, however it’s more effective to tone it down. Let your leaflets and print content explain the details and leave your display to grab attention, focusing on your key features.

1/ The Event


The type of event that you are attending will, to a certain extent, inform you on the type of banner stand you require.
