Sustainability
Sustainable, Reuseable, Recyclable
SD Displays are committed to sustainability and waste reduction in all that we build and supply for our customers. Every element is designed to be reused, repurposed and ultimately fully recycled at end of life.
We're focused on creating high-impact exhibition stands and displays, and supplying poster boards and shell scheme hire, with minimal environmental impact.
Our business model has always been low-waste as our display solutions have a long life and can be reconfigured, repaired and reused multiple times.
Our hire model supports this for our customers, enabling storage and re-use of framework, graphics, displays, flooring and furniture between events.
Now, through the consideration and selection of environmentally friendly materials, sustainable partners and processes, we are continually and consciously improving our sustainability without compromising on quality or increasing customer costs.
...because great events shouldn't cost the earth
Exhibition Stands
We use the T3 system for our exhibition stand builds. This structural framework is made from lightweight aluminium designed to have a long life and produce zero waste as the frames and components are 100% recyclable.
We consider potential future use, longevity, and environmental impact as part of our exhibition stand design process.
Our exhibition and event lighting uses low energy LED's which have a long life and can be reused many times.
Our modular designs enable component parts to be easily adapted and reconfigured for multiple uses on different size and orientation of stand builds, and the graphics can be continually rebranded.
This not only reduces the need for new materials but also cuts down on the carbon footprint.
Poster Boards, Booths & Shell Schemes
Our display boards are made from Dufaylite - a honeycomb paper core made from 100% recyclable & recycled material, sourced from sustainably managed forests.
The central core is then covered in a hardwearing fabric and framed with recyclable aluminium.
The boards last for many decades and can be repaired if damaged. At the end of life there is minimal waste as the frames and core are fully recyclable.
Graphics
We use fabric graphics on all our exhibition stand builds, which are reuseable and recyclable.
We are continually sourcing Eco-friendly alternatives to traditional print materials containing non-recyclable plastic, to offer sustainable quality alternatives for our client's counters and bespoke builds.
To encourage the reduction of plastic waste from Banners and Shell Scheme graphics, we supply a range of 100% recyclable Eco options. All have a fabric sleeve that slides over a portable aluminium frame, and the Eco Sleeve® range offers SEAQUAL fabric graphics made from 100% recycled plastic marine waste.
We even reuse graphics as covers for display models before they are recycled at end of life.
Carpet & Flooring
We supply eco-friendly event carpet and flooring that is latex-free and fully recyclable.
We stock reusable raised flooring that has a long-life and is available to hire, before being recycled at end of life.
Post-use event carpet and flooring can be ground into premium PP pellets that are then repurposed in the plastics industry, a cradle-cradle solution.
Venues
Due to the temporary pop-up nature of exhibitions, display and stand builds have traditionally have been seen as disposable.
Events generate a high volume of waste, from the stand materials themselves to visitor waste such as food, water bottles and lanyards, along with packaging and signage.
But it doesn't have to be this way and we are working with exhibition venues and partners to support sustainability and waste-management initiatives with our customer installations and builds.
